www.tapahtuma.tv – National events calendar launched
Where to go today? The new multiple media service makes finding events and buying tickets easy.
Tapahtuma.tv is a new national events calendar providing coverage of nearly all payable events in Finland. The service, developed by Mix Media Oy, will be implemented in cooperation with ticket agents – Lippupiste, Lippupalvelu and Tiketti – as well as the telephone operator Elisa.
The service offers events organisers a new multiple media marketing channel that links marketing directly to ticket sales. For the consumer it means an easy way to get information on content, times and ticket prices. The service is linked to the ticket vendors’ database, making the purchase of tickets quick and easy. Tapahtuma.tv has now been launched on the Internet. Next to be launched will be Tapahtuma.tv’s WAP service. Tapahtuma.tv’s videos are already featured on mobile TV.
Video is gaining ground
The moving image has already taken over the Internet and mobile phone will soon follow. Videos are an important part of the Tapahtuma.tv service concept. Video clips and trailers executed by Mix Media have been popular on the web pages of theatres, for example. An increasing number of trailers are being produced for the Tapahtuma.tv site as well as specific event sites.
UMO Jazz Fest 31.8-3.9 is testing new services
Mix Media is conducting a multiple media video trailer pilot in cooperation with the UMO Jazz Fest event that starts in Helsinki on Thursday. Short advance trailers of the concerts, with musical samples combined with digital photos, have been produced. The trailers can be viewed on the Web and with 3G- ja DVB-H mobile phones.
- For the first time we can convey to the consumers in advance, with the aid of music, the true atmosphere of the concerts, says UMO’s sales director Thomas Noreila. He is a key member of the team organising the event, which presents Finnish jazz music and is also visited by numerous international players on the jazz scene. UMO Jazz Fest is being organised in Helsinki 31.8-3.9. 2006
The UMO Jazz Fest is implemented as part of the Finnish Mobile TV Project, which is one of the projects making up Forum Virium Helsinki’s programme. The mobile TV pilot project operates under the management of Jonas Kronlund, Technology Manager at Elisa R&D. Lippupiste Ltd. is testing its mobile ticket service at the same time.
